  • Ripple predicts 10% of the world’s assets will be tokenized and traded on-chain within five years.
  • Ripple Custody provides three main solutions: safekeeping of assets, stablecoin issuance, and governance alignment.
  • By 2030, crypto assets under custody could reach $16 trillion, highlighting the importance of institutional-grade custody solutions.
  • Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin offers a ready-made option for institutions seeking to enter the stablecoin market.

Ripple’s Push Toward a Tokenized Future

SBI CEO Yoshitaka Kitao recently highlighted Ripple’s blog post on the future of tokenized assets, underscoring the company’s ambitious vision. Ripple believes that within the next five years, at least 10% of global assets will be tokenized and stored on-chain.

To meet institutional demand for secure and reliable custody, Ripple has introduced Ripple Custody, a solution designed to give financial institutions the tools needed to participate in the digital asset economy.

Ripple Custody: Giving Institutions What They Seek

Ripple Custody is built to address the core challenges institutions face as they move into the blockchain space. It offers three crucial use cases:

1. Core Safekeeping of Assets

Security remains the biggest challenge in digital finance. Without proper safekeeping, institutions risk irreversible losses due to lost private keys or unauthorized access. XRP Custody provides:

  • Bank-grade infrastructure
  • Robust compliance frameworks
  • High reliability
  • Flexible deployment options

By 2030, experts project that crypto assets under custody could reach $16 trillion, emphasizing the growing need for secure solutions.

2. Stablecoin Issuance

Stablecoins are rapidly becoming essential tools for payments, remittances, and collateral operations. Ripple Custody enables institutions to mint, burn, and manage stablecoins seamlessly on the XRP Ledger or any EVM-compatible blockchain.

For those not ready to develop their own stablecoin, Ripple’s RLUSD serves as a ready-made, enterprise-grade solution.

3. Governance and Regulatory Alignment

As regulations evolve, compliance is critical. Ripple Custody supports institutions in configuring governance policies and aligning with global regulatory standards, making it easier for them to expand their digital asset operations confidently.

Ripple Custody positions itself as a foundational tool for the future of institutional finance, offering safekeeping, stablecoin issuance, and governance solutions to prepare for the upcoming wave of tokenized assets. With projections pointing to trillions of dollars in assets under custody by 2030, XRP is making a strong case that it could play a leading role in shaping the next era of finance.
