  • Ripple launched a $750 million share buyback that values the company at $50 billion, a 25% rise from its 2025 valuation.
  • XRP has fallen over 53% in six months, even as Ripple expands through acquisitions and RLUSD surpasses $1 billion.

Ripple has launched a major share repurchase program worth up to $750 million, pushing the company’s valuation to about $50 billion. The move highlights strong investor confidence in the blockchain payments firm even as XRP’s market price continues to face significant pressure.

Ripple is buying back $750Million in private shares setting the valuation at $50Billion.

The tender offer allows Ripple to buy back shares from investors and employees, and the program is expected to run through April. This initiative marks a significant milestone for the company and signals continued confidence in its long-term strategy and growth.

Ripple’s Valuation Climbs to $50 Billion

Ripple’s new valuation represents a 25% increase from the $40 billion valuation the company achieved during its November 2025 funding round. At that time, Ripple raised $500 million from major institutional investors, including Fortress Investment Group, Citadel Securities, Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital, Brevan Howard, and Marshall Wace.

The repurchase program allows shareholders and staff members to sell their privately held Ripple shares back to the company. By doing so, Ripple can provide liquidity to existing stakeholders while also strengthening its ownership structure.

However, the higher company valuation comes at a time when the broader cryptocurrency market has experienced weakness. XRP has declined more than 53% over the past six months and was trading around $1.39 at the time of reporting.

Bitcoin has also seen a drop of roughly 30% to 40% during the same period, reflecting the broader downturn across the digital asset market.

Interestingly, data from private securities trading platform Forge Global showed that Ripple’s privately traded shares had actually fallen by more than 9% by Wednesday, adding complexity to the buyback valuation.

Ripple Expands Through Strategic Acquisitions

Despite market challenges, Ripple has continued to pursue aggressive expansion through major corporate acquisitions.

The company recently acquired prime brokerage firm Hidden Road in a deal worth $1.25 billion. Ripple also committed $1 billion to purchase GTreasury, a company specializing in treasury management solutions.

These acquisitions are designed to strengthen Ripple’s financial infrastructure and expand its services within the global payments ecosystem.

Ripple has also signaled plans to expand its regulatory footprint internationally. Just days ago, the company revealed its intention to obtain a financial services license in Australia through the acquisition of a local payments company.

Ripple previously secured conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in the United States for a national trust bank charter, but the company said it will not use the charter to issue stablecoins.

RLUSD Stablecoin Reaches $1 Billion Market Cap

Ripple’s ecosystem growth has also been supported by its stablecoin initiative. The company recently announced that its dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD has surpassed $1 billion in market capitalization since launching in December 2024.

Additionally, Ripple revealed that its payments infrastructure has now processed more than $100 billion in transactions.

Ripple president Monica Long has also stated that the company currently has no immediate plans to go public, suggesting the firm remains focused on expanding its private market operations.

With the share buyback program continuing through April, Ripple appears determined to reinforce investor confidence while advancing its long-term growth strategy in the global blockchain payments sector.
