- SOL rebounds strongly from the $202 demand zone, retesting $205 resistance.
- $205 remains a key barrier, acting as resistance since late 2021.
- Analysts split on breakout potential: some see short-term upside, others expect mean reversion.

- Short-term target sits near $208, with broader trend still bullish above $200.
Solana (SOL) has been moving in line with technical expectations, bouncing from the $202–$204 demand zone and quickly retesting the $205 resistance level. The move sparked renewed attention among analysts and institutional players, fueling debate on whether a breakout is imminent or if SOL remains stuck in its long-term range.
Solana Rebounds From Demand Zone
Crypto analyst Batman highlighted the recent price action, stating:
“Boom! $SOL just followed my roadmap perfectly. It’s about as clean as it gets.”
After rejection at the $211–$213 range, SOL dipped to retest demand around $202. The bounce pushed the token above $206.5, which has now flipped into support. A short-term setup has been suggested with an upside target of $208 and a stop-loss around $200, offering a favorable 2.63% risk-to-reward ratio.

At press time, SOL trades near $205, down 1% on the day and 2% over the past week.
$205 Still Holding as Major Barrier
Despite the rebound, the $205 resistance remains a critical roadblock. This level has capped price action since late 2021 and has yet to see a confirmed weekly close above it.
Market analyst Sherpa noted that while upside remains possible in the next two months, he is preparing to accumulate between $200–$180 in case of further pullbacks.
Meanwhile, XO described current price action as range-bound, suggesting mean reversion could occur until a higher timeframe breakout is confirmed.
The 200-week EMA near $113 highlights that, despite near-term resistance, Solana’s broader trend continues to lean bullish.
Institutional Buying Signals Confidence
Adding to the bullish sentiment, DeFi Development Corp confirmed a major purchase of 196,141 SOL at an average of $202.76, worth approximately $39.76 million. The firm now holds over 2 million SOL and plans to stake the tokens for yield generation, signaling strong institutional conviction in Solana’s long-term growth.
What’s Next for SOL?
With $205 acting as the immediate ceiling, a decisive weekly close above this level could open the door to $208–$213, followed by potential retests of higher zones. On the downside, failure to hold above $200 could bring a retracement toward $180, where buyers are likely to step in again.
For now, SOL continues to trade within a well-defined structure, but growing institutional demand and repeated tests of resistance suggest a breakout could be on the horizon.
