- Hyperliquid (HYPE) surged 6% despite a crypto market downturn, driven by institutional integrations and strong technical signals.
- Recent protocol updates, reduced liquid supply, and growing adoption have supported its price and bullish outlook.
Hyperliquid (HYPE) has defied the wider cryptocurrency market slump, rallying 6% even as Bitcoin dipped below $72,000 and most major tokens faced heavy selling pressure. Trading around $34.96 at press time, HYPE has emerged as a notable outperformer, gaining 29% over the past month and showing resilience amid turbulent market conditions.
Institutional Integrations Boost Demand
Several developments have fueled Hyperliquid’s price surge. Ripple recently announced that its institutional brokerage platform, Ripple Prime, added support for Hyperliquid. This integration allows institutions to access on-chain perpetuals and derivatives on Hyperliquid while managing risk alongside traditional assets such as foreign exchange and fixed income.
The market responded positively, lifting HYPE even as broader crypto sentiment remained bearish. While Ripple’s integration doesn’t directly affect XRP, it strengthens HYPE’s role in perpetual trading activity.
Similarly, Hyperion DeFi Inc., a publicly traded digital asset treasury, revealed plans to use HYPE holdings as collateral for options, focusing on income generation rather than directional bets. The company aims to launch an on-chain options vault with Rysk protocol, potentially opening the platform to other institutional holders. By reducing the liquid supply through structured products, this move may provide additional support for HYPE’s price.
Technical Shifts Signal Bullish Potential
Technical indicators suggest Hyperliquid has shifted from a bearish to a neutral-bullish trend. The token has recovered the mid-Bollinger Band and maintained levels above it, forming the first higher low since November. Price action has pushed above the upper Bollinger Band with strong closes, while the 20-day moving average now acts as support.
The relative strength index (RSI) has climbed into the 60–70 range, signaling sustained buyer interest. Clearing the $32–$33 resistance zone further reinforces acceptance at higher levels, leaving limited overhead supply until around $40. If HYPE holds above $32, a potential move toward $38–$42 is possible. A drop below this level, however, could test support near $27–$28.
Protocol Updates and Market Resilience
Hyperliquid’s recent HIP-4 update introduces fully collateralized outcomes trading, appealing to risk-conscious traders during volatile sessions. Combined with prior improvements enabling permissionless markets for crypto, equities, and commodities, these enhancements have contributed to strong network growth.
Even an upcoming token unlock of nearly 10 million HYPE, worth roughly $300 million, has not unsettled buyers, reflecting growing market maturity and institutional confidence.
Bottom Line: Hyperliquid’s combination of institutional adoption, technical recovery, and strategic protocol updates has allowed HYPE to outperform the market, demonstrating resilience even amid widespread crypto sell-offs.
