- Zcash has surged over 1,600% since September, boosted by major investors and growing interest in privacy-focused cryptocurrencies.
- A bullish inverse head and shoulders pattern now positions the token for a potential breakout targeting a 40% rise.
Zcash continues to attract strong market attention after a stunning rally this year. The privacy-focused cryptocurrency has surged more than 1,600% since early September, driven by renewed interest in privacy assets and aggressive accumulation from major industry figures. Now, ZEC is approaching a key technical breakout that could set the stage for another strong price surge.
Heavyweights Fuel Zcash’s Impressive Run
Zcash is up 175% in the past month and more than 30% in just seven days, with support coming from well-known crypto personalities. The Winklevoss twins, through the newly rebranded Cypherpunk Technologies, have rapidly expanded their ZEC holdings. The firm now owns 233,644 ZEC, valued at about $150 million, representing 1.25% of the circulating supply. Their stated goal is to accumulate at least 5% of total supply, a move that could further strengthen market confidence.
Arthur Hayes, former BitMEX CEO and a long-time supporter of privacy coins, has also turned attention toward Zcash. His prediction that ZEC could hit $1,000 in the short term, combined with significant asset transfers from his wallet to exchanges, sparked speculation that he may be preparing to increase his exposure.
Privacy-focused assets across the sector have also gained traction recently. Tokens like Decred, Dash, and Monero saw rises of 90%, 80%, and 22% over the last month, respectively. With nearly 30% of ZEC now held in shielded pools, demand for its privacy features is clearly increasing, while reducing active supply and easing selling pressure.
Bullish Reversal Pattern Suggests More Upside Ahead
ZEC is now approaching a breakout from an inverse head and shoulders pattern on the 4-hour chart—a typical signal of trend reversal. The neckline sits at $690, and a strong move above this level could open the path toward $956, nearly 40% above current prices.

Zcash also trades comfortably above the 50-day EMA at $613, and the Supertrend indicator recently flashed a buy signal, adding more confidence to the bullish case. However, analysts caution that ZEC must remain above the 50-day EMA for the setup to stay valid.
