- Bitcoin is trading near $77,000 with little movement despite rising oil prices, geopolitical tensions, and upcoming Fed and ECB decisions.
- Altcoins are mostly weaker, while Bitcoin holds a tight range with key support at $75,000 and resistance near $80,000.
Bitcoin is trading around $77,000 while global markets react to rising oil prices and geopolitical tensions. Traders are watching central banks and Middle East developments closely as volatility builds across assets.
Reports of a possible extended U.S. naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz have pushed oil above $111 per barrel. This has added fresh inflation concerns ahead of key policy decisions from the U.S. Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank.
Despite the noise, Bitcoin has barely moved. It is up just 0.1% in 24 hours and slightly lower on the week. Other major cryptocurrencies have shown weakness.
Ether, XRP, Solana, and BNB have all declined over the past week. Dogecoin is the only top-10 non-stablecoin asset in positive territory, gaining over 5%.
Bitcoin stability stands out amid market pressure
Market analysts say Bitcoin’s calm behavior reflects a shift in how it reacts to macro events. Instead of sharp swings, it is now trading within a tighter range.
Bitcoin is holding just below resistance while selling pressure appears to be fading.
Zaheer Ebtikar of Split Research noted that recent selling has largely dried up. He said weaker holders have already exited the market, leaving fewer sellers behind.
He also added that Bitcoin is now more tied to overall market volatility than direct policy news. This has reduced its reaction to central bank signals in the short term.
Altcoins weaken as Bitcoin dominance rises
Altcoin performance has weakened as capital rotates toward Bitcoin. Ether dropped 2.6% for the week. XRP fell 3.8%. Solana lost 3.2%. BNB also declined.
This shift has increased Bitcoin’s market dominance. It often rises during periods of macro uncertainty as investors move to larger, more liquid assets.
Dogecoin stood out with a weekly gain, but overall sentiment in altcoins remains weak.
Key price levels now in focus
Technical analysts are closely watching the $75,000 level as major support. A breakdown below it could signal a deeper correction.
On the upside, a return toward $80,000 is needed to keep the current bullish structure intact. That level has repeatedly acted as resistance since February.
A clean move above it could open space for another upward leg.
Fed decision and global tensions shape outlook
Markets are now focused on the upcoming Federal Reserve rate decision. Donald Trump has also been linked to discussions around Middle East strategy, adding to geopolitical uncertainty. Oil prices remain elevated near $111, keeping inflation concerns active. This puts pressure on central banks as they decide their next policy moves. Traders expect sharper moves once the Fed and ECB decisions are released.
Bitcoin remains in a tight range despite rising global risks. The next major move will likely depend on macro triggers.
If volatility increases, the current calm may break quickly. If not, Bitcoin may continue to trade sideways while other assets adjust to policy and geopolitical shifts.
