- Bitwise has filed an S-1 to launch a Hyperliquid (HYPE) ETF, signaling growing institutional interest in the token.
- HYPE is trading around $42, with analysts projecting potential gains to $55 despite competition from Aster.
Hyperliquid (HYPE) is in the market spotlight as Bitwise files an S-1 to launch an exchange-traded fund (ETF) tracking the token. The proposed Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF aims to offer investors direct exposure to HYPE, similar to existing Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. While the filing does not yet disclose the exchange, ticker, or fees, it signals growing institutional interest in the token.
The ETF is designed to allow in-kind creation and redemption, enabling investors to exchange shares for actual HYPE tokens rather than cash. This cost-efficient structure, approved by the SEC in July, is considered a key step toward mainstream adoption. The approval process could take up to 240 days, though recent SEC measures aim to accelerate crypto ETF approvals.

Price Outlook and Market Analysis
HYPE is trading around $42, with analysts highlighting a “golden zone” that may support a price rebound. Technical analysis shows the token repeatedly testing critical Fibonacci retracement levels, forming a stable market channel despite earlier volatility. Ali Charts projects a potential rise to $55, while CoinGape sees an optimistic $72 target. Mid-term projections reinforce a bullish outlook for HYPE, particularly if support levels hold.
Institutional Moves Strengthen Confidence
Beyond the ETF filing, Hyperion DeFi expanded its treasury with a $10 million HYPE purchase, adding 1.7 million tokens to its holdings. This move, coupled with Bitwise’s filing, strengthens market confidence and signals growing institutional conviction in the token’s growth potential.
Competition Intensifies with Aster
Hyperliquid now faces increased competition from Aster, a new perpetual futures decentralized exchange (DEX) on BNB Chain. Aster’s 24-hour trading volume recently exceeded $35.8 billion, more than triple Hyperliquid’s $10 billion, while its token open interest surged to $1.15 billion. HYPE’s open interest, by comparison, declined slightly to $2.2 billion, with the token price falling 3.5% to $42.5.

Despite this competitive pressure, the Bitwise ETF filing could position HYPE for renewed institutional focus. With strong technical levels and strategic treasury expansions, the token is entering a pivotal phase, potentially offering investors an opportunity to position themselves ahead of ETF approval.
Hyperliquid’s current market activity, coupled with institutional interest and potential ETF approval, underscores HYPE as a token worth watching. While competition from Aster presents challenges, investor sentiment remains optimistic for a potential price rebound toward $55 or higher.
