Litecoin’s First US Spot ETF Hits $5.4M After Eight Months Since Launch

  • The Litecoin spot ETF has accumulated only about $5.43 million in assets after eight months, indicating weaker investor demand than Bitcoin ETFs.
  • Despite regulatory approval, high fees and low interest highlight limited appetite for altcoin-based ETFs.

The first US spot Litecoin ETF has entered the market, but investor interest remains relatively weak compared to Bitcoin-based funds. Canary Capital’s Litecoin ETF (LTCC) has accumulated only modest inflows since launch, highlighting the growing gap between Bitcoin and altcoin ETF demand.

Litecoin ETF Records Slow Asset Growth

The Litecoin spot ETF, launched by Canary Capital in October 2025, has gathered about $5.43 million in assets after nearly eight months. Daily trading volume remains between 11,000 and 16,000 shares. This level suggests limited participation from institutional and retail investors.

Even with regulatory approval, the product has not attracted strong inflows. This shows that investor interest in altcoin ETFs is still selective.

Bitcoin ETFs Continue to Dominate the Market

In contrast, Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted billions of dollars within weeks of launch. This rapid growth set a high benchmark for crypto investment products.

The difference highlights a clear preference among investors for Bitcoin exposure over smaller crypto assets like Litecoin. Market trust and liquidity appear to play a major role in this gap.

Higher Fees and Limited Demand Impact Performance

The Litecoin ETF carries a 0.95% management fee. This is higher than most Bitcoin ETF products, which are priced more competitively. Higher fees may be discouraging some investors, especially when paired with lower liquidity and weaker brand demand.

Even though Litecoin has achieved commodity classification and received approval from the U.S. SEC, it has not translated into strong ETF adoption.

The slow start of Litecoin’s ETF suggests that altcoin-based investment products may struggle to match Bitcoin’s success. Investor confidence remains concentrated in top-tier assets. This leaves smaller cryptocurrencies facing an uphill battle for ETF-driven capital inflows.

The early performance of LTCC signals that future altcoin ETFs may need stronger market narratives, lower fees, or broader institutional support to compete effectively.
