  • Pi Network is expanding its gaming ecosystem as CiDi Games introduces a browser-based gaming roadmap ahead of Consensus 2026.
  • The rollout aligns with major upgrades and token unlocks, putting focus on real adoption and delivery.

CiDi Games has released a new roadmap focused on building a gaming layer on the Pi Network. The plan introduces a developer SDK, a browser-based gaming hub, and tools for external studios to integrate Pi payments into their games. The announcement comes just days before Pi Network co-founders appear at Consensus 2026 in Miami. The timing suggests a coordinated push to highlight ecosystem progress.

CiDi Games outlines new gaming layer for Pi Network

CiDi Games shared its roadmap on May 3, 2026. The focus is on expanding gaming activity within the Pi Network ecosystem. The company is working on tools that allow developers to build games using Pi infrastructure. This includes wallet connections, payment systems, and on-chain features designed for smoother integration.

CiDi started early trials in Q1 2026. However, it has not yet released data on user activity, transactions, or engagement levels.

Browser-based SDK aims to simplify game integration

A key part of the roadmap is a software development kit (SDK). It allows games to connect directly to Pi wallets and login systems.

The SDK supports payments and blockchain features in one package. All games run using HTML5, meaning they work directly in browsers without downloads.

This approach targets accessibility. It lowers the barrier for both developers and players. It also supports Pi’s mobile-first user base.

Timing aligns with Consensus 2026 appearance

The roadmap release closely aligns with major industry attention on Pi Network.

Pi co-founders Chengdiao Fan and Nicolas Kokkalis are scheduled to speak at Consensus 2026, running from May 5 to May 7 in Miami. The roadmap dropped just before the event.

Another key date follows shortly after. On May 15, Pi Network expects all mainnet nodes to complete the Protocol 23 upgrade. This upgrade introduces native smart contract support.

Around 184.5 million PI tokens are also set to unlock in May. These events create a tightly packed period of network activity and expectations.

Competition with Immutable, Ronin, and Sui intensifies

Pi Network is entering a competitive blockchain gaming space.

Platforms like Immutable focus on gas-free NFT transactions. Ronin, developed by Sky Mavis, supports gaming economies with built-in wallets. Sui emphasizes speed and flexible asset design.

Pi’s strategy is different. It focuses on browser-based gaming and accessibility through mobile-first adoption. Users joined through mining and social engagement rather than gaming.

However, competitors already publish clear metrics like daily active users and transaction volume. Pi has not yet released similar performance data.

Major May milestones raise stakes for Pi Network

Several major events overlap in May 2026. These include the roadmap release, Consensus appearance, protocol upgrade deadline, and token unlock schedule.

This combination puts pressure on the ecosystem to show real progress. It also highlights the transition from planning to execution.

Outlook for Pi Network gaming ecosystem

The roadmap gives Pi Network a clearer direction in gaming. The idea is simple: browser-based games with built-in payments and easy access.

The challenge remains execution. Key details on monetization, scalability, and developer incentives are still missing.

If Pi Network can turn its large user base into active gamers, it could build a strong niche in blockchain gaming. If not, the project will need stronger data and clearer adoption signals to compete.
