Pi Network Unblocks Millions of Pioneers for Mainnet Migration

  • Pi Network has unblocked millions of Pioneers for Mainnet migration and will soon allow over 700,000 more users to submit KYC applications.
  • The network is also testing palm print authentication while preparing the KYC validator rewards distribution by March 2026.

Pi Network has rolled out a major technical update that opens the door for millions of Pioneers to complete the Mainnet migration. The update resolves long-standing blocks tied to security and compliance checks, allowing more users to join the fully identity-verified Mainnet blockchain. With additional KYC improvements on the way, Pi continues to strengthen its ecosystem through scale, security, and verified participation.

After years of phased development, Pi now counts 16 million Mainnet-migrated Pioneers. This milestone places Pi among the largest identity-verified blockchain networks in the world, reinforcing its focus on real users rather than anonymous accounts.

Millions of Previously Blocked Pioneers Now Migrating

The latest update unblocks nearly 2.5 million Pioneers who previously faced delays due to regional compliance or enhanced security reviews. For eligible users, the system now automatically migrates transferable balances, provided they remain active in mining and have completed the Mainnet Checklist.

Pi processes unblocking in batches rather than all at once. Each blocked group faces different technical edge cases, such as tentative KYC status reviews or added account security checks. Engineers design and release tailored solutions for each case, ensuring genuine users pass through while bad actors remain filtered out.

Over 700,000 New KYC Applications Opening Soon

Within the next few weeks, more than 700,000 additional Pioneers will gain access to submit KYC applications. These users previously sat outside eligibility as Pi continued background processing to protect Mainnet integrity at scale.

Once the update goes live, affected users should open the Pi app and confirm their status. Early submission helps accounts progress faster through the remaining steps. Some applications may still undergo deeper analysis, depending on account history and verification requirements.

Palm Print Authentication Enters Beta Testing

Pi also plans to test palm print authentication as a new beta feature within Pi KYC. This method focuses on proving human authenticity without relying solely on facial scans, offering an added layer of privacy.

Palm print verification could support future use cases such as account recovery, password resets, two-factor authentication, and enhanced account protection. Pi will first release the feature to a limited group of Pioneers before wider evaluation.

Validator Rewards Still on Track for March 2026

KYC validator rewards distribution continues to advance toward its planned release by the end of March 2026. The team has finalized the design, completed implementation, and entered extensive testing.

The process involves analyzing hundreds of millions of validation tasks accumulated since 2021. Pi aims to ensure fairness, calculation accuracy, and secure Mainnet distribution at scale. Once deployed, validators will finally receive Pi payments for their contributions.

Together, these updates expand access, improve verification, and strengthen trust across the Pi Network ecosystem.
