- SUI price surged after breaking out of a three-month consolidation range, with bulls now targeting the $1.50 level.
- Institutional staking, rising futures activity, and the Paga partnership helped strengthen bullish sentiment around the coin.
SUI price has returned to the spotlight after breaking out of a long consolidation phase that kept the coin trapped below key resistance for months. The latest rally pushed the Sui above critical price levels and renewed bullish sentiment across the market.
The breakout comes as institutional staking, rising futures activity, and new adoption developments continue to strengthen confidence in the Sui ecosystem. Traders are now watching whether SUI can maintain support above the breakout zone and continue its climb toward higher resistance levels.
SUI Breakout Changes Market Structure
For several weeks, SUI struggled to move above the $1.05 resistance zone. That level repeatedly rejected buyers throughout April and early May. The recent breakout changed the technical structure completely. Once SUI cleared that range, buyers quickly pushed the token toward $1.15 before extending the rally above $1.30.
The move confirmed stronger buying pressure and shifted previous resistance into a new support area. As long as SUI remains above $1.05, the broader bullish setup stays intact.
The $1.20 region has now become the most important short-term support level. Holding above it would suggest buyers are still defending the latest breakout.
However, a sharp move back below that area could trigger profit-taking and increase the risk of a temporary pullback.
Institutional Staking Reduces Available Supply
One major factor behind the recent rally is institutional staking activity.
SUI Group Holdings, a Nasdaq-listed company, reportedly moved 108.7M SUI into direct staking. That amount represents roughly 2.7% of the circulating supply. When large amounts of tokens are locked in staking, fewer coins remain available for active trading. This can tighten supply and support higher prices if demand continues rising.
The move also improved market sentiment because it showed long-term confidence from an institutional player.
Paga Partnership Expands Real-World Use Cases
Another catalyst supporting SUI’s price is its partnership with Paga Group, a major Nigerian fintech company.
The collaboration will integrate Sui Dollar (USDsui) into Paga’s ecosystem and support stablecoin payments alongside tokenized real-world asset products. Paga revealed it processed more than $11 billion in payments and over 169 million transactions in 2025. That scale gives Sui exposure to a large payment infrastructure with real consumer activity.
The company also plans to use Sui as its main blockchain network across enterprise and consumer services. This development strengthens Sui’s adoption narrative beyond speculative trading.
Futures Activity Signals Growing Trader Interest
Derivatives data also shows growing market participation. Open interest in SUI futures climbed above $700 million, while daily futures volume surged past $2.5 billion. Rising open interest during a rally often signals fresh capital entering the market.

At the same time, CME Group recently expanded access to Sui futures trading. The launch provides institutional traders with a regulated environment for exposure and hedging.
Still, rising leverage can also increase volatility. If traders begin taking profits near resistance, short-term pullbacks may appear quickly.
Key SUI Price Levels to Watch
The next important resistance sits near $1.35 after the recent push above $1.30.
A strong daily close above that level could open the door for a move toward $1.50, which remains the next major psychological target.

On the downside, traders will continue watching the $1.20 support zone closely. Losing that level may weaken the current bullish structure and shift attention back toward the earlier breakout area near $1.10 to $1.15.
For now, SUI continues to benefit from strong price action, staking activity, growing adoption, and increased derivatives participation. If buying pressure remains steady, bulls may continue targeting higher levels in the sessions ahead.
