- Tron’s gasless USDT transfers reached $3 billion in 2026 as adoption surged.
- The growth comes despite rising competition in stablecoin payments.
Tron’s gasless USDT transfer volume reached $3 billion in 2026, according to new data from CryptoQuant. The increase reflects wider adoption of its GasFree service as more users choose fee-free stablecoin payments.
The increase comes despite Tron losing a share of the stablecoin settlement market, suggesting that its GasFree initiative is helping the network attract new payment use cases.
Tron’s GasFree Service Doubles USDT Transfer Volume
CryptoQuant reported that Tron’s gasless USDT transfers climbed from $1.5 billion in January 2026 to $3 billion by mid-year. The service has also grown rapidly since launching in 2025, when gasless transfer volume was close to zero.

Unlike standard blockchain transactions, Tron’s GasFree service allows users to send USDT without holding TRX to pay network fees. Instead, the platform deducts a small fee directly from the transferred amount.
This approach removes one of the biggest barriers to stablecoin payments. Normally, users must keep a balance of the blockchain’s native token, such as TRX on Tron or SOL on Solana, before they can send funds.
By eliminating that requirement, Tron makes USDT transfers easier for everyday users and payment applications.
Active Users and Transactions Reach Record Levels
CryptoQuant said GasFree adoption continues to grow alongside transfer volume. The number of unique users reached a record 30,000, while daily transactions climbed to nearly 196,000.

The analytics firm described the trend as a structural shift rather than a temporary increase in activity. According to its report, gasless payments have become a key feature for applications that want to onboard users who only hold USDT.
Some payment platforms have already integrated the service. For example, Rhino.fi uses Tron to support spendable USDT balances, showing that the network is expanding beyond peer-to-peer transfers into broader payment solutions.
Another advantage is predictable costs. CryptoQuant noted that the median fee remains around $1.50 for a $16,000 transfer, even during periods of high blockchain activity.
Tron Faces Growing Competition in Stablecoin Payments
While GasFree adoption continues to rise, Tron is facing stronger competition in the stablecoin payments market.
Companies such as Stripe, through Tempo, and Circle with Arc are developing payment systems that remove the need for users to manage gas tokens. New blockchain projects are also exploring similar models to simplify digital payments.
Meanwhile, Visa data shows Tron’s share of stablecoin transfer volume has declined from 43% in 2024 to 20% by mid-2026. The drop suggests that competition across blockchain payment networks is increasing.
Even so, the rapid growth of GasFree indicates that simplifying user experience could help Tron strengthen its position as payment providers continue to adopt stablecoins.
As blockchain payments become more mainstream, gasless transactions may play a bigger role in attracting both developers and everyday users to the network.
