Solana Price Could Drop Toward $72 if $80 Support Breaks

SOLANA IMAGE OF PRICE ANALYSIS
  • Solana is struggling to break key resistance near $88–$92, keeping its short-term recovery fragile.
  • A drop below $80 could trigger another decline toward $72–$68, increasing bearish pressure.

Solana’s price struggles to reclaim key resistance levels. After a sharp decline earlier this year, SOL has shown signs of recovery, but sellers continue to dominate near the $90 zone. With price now hovering above $85, the market faces a decisive period that could determine whether Solana stabilizes or slides into another extended decline.

SOLANA/U.S DOLAR PRRICE CHART FOR 1 HOUR PERIOD

Despite a rebound from recent lows, technical barriers remain firmly in place. Failure to secure a strong close above resistance may expose Solana to renewed selling pressure, increasing the risk of a move back toward critical support levels.

Solana Attempts a Recovery but Faces Strong Resistance

SOL recently climbed from the $68 low, tracking a broader recovery seen across major cryptocurrencies. The move allowed Solana to reclaim the $75 and $80 levels, offering short-term relief to traders. Price also pushed above the 100-hour simple moving average, a development that typically signals improving short-term structure.

However, the rebound has stalled below $90. A bearish trend line has formed near $88, creating immediate resistance. This level has repeatedly capped moves, highlighting continued selling interest. While Solana briefly moved above the 50% Fibonacci retracement of the drop from $106 to $68, bulls have struggled to maintain control beyond this point.

The next resistance sits near $92, which aligns with the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level. A sustained close above this area could open the door for a push toward $95 and potentially $102. Without such a move, upside attempts may remain limited.

Risk of Another Decline if $80 Support Fails

On the downside, Solana’s structure becomes more vulnerable if resistance continues to hold. Initial support rests near $84, but the more critical level remains $80. A decisive break below $80 could sharply shift sentiment, exposing SOL to deeper losses.

If selling pressure intensifies, the next downside target lies around $72. A close below this zone may trigger a return to the $68 area, where the recent recovery began. Such a move would reinforce the broader bearish outlook and suggest that Solana has not yet found a durable base.

Technical Indicators Paint a Mixed Picture

Short-term indicators offer limited reassurance. The hourly MACD remains in positive territory, while the RSI sits above the 50 mark, suggesting some underlying buying interest. Even so, these signals may weaken quickly if the price fails to clear $88 and $92.

For now, Solana remains trapped between firm resistance and fragile support. Traders are watching closely, as the next breakout or breakdown could set the tone for SOL’s direction in the weeks ahead.
