Pi Network Listed on Kraken Roadmap Amid Ongoing KYC and Mainnet Delays

  • Kraken has added Pi Network to its Chains roadmap, signaling interest but offering no timeline for a full listing.
  • Meanwhile, ongoing KYC delays, slow mainnet migration, and limited liquidity continue to pressure PI’s price.

Kraken has added Pi Network to its public listings roadmap, a move that has reignited discussion around the project’s long-awaited exchange exposure. While the update reflects growing recognition from a major crypto exchange, it does not resolve the core challenges that have continued to weigh on Pi Network, including KYC delays, slow mainnet migration, and ongoing price weakness.

Kraken Adds Pi Network to Its Chain Roadmap

Kraken placed Pi (PI) under its “Chains” category on the listings roadmap. This section tracks blockchain networks that require technical integration before deposits, withdrawals, or spot trading can begin. Importantly, inclusion does not guarantee a future listing.

Pi now appears alongside other networks under evaluation, such as Conflux, MegaETH, Pepecoin, and Quai. Kraken also issued a disclaimer reminding users not to deposit assets until an official listing announcement is made. No timeline was provided for when PI trading or transfers could become available.

Within the Pi community, the update was widely viewed as a positive signal. Many users interpreted the move as a step toward broader exchange recognition, even though it remains an early-stage integration rather than a confirmed listing.

KYC and Mainnet Migration Challenges Remain

Despite the exchange attention, Pi Network continues to face criticism over its KYC process and mainnet migration. Nearly a year after the Open Network mainnet launch, many users still report difficulties verifying their accounts or transferring balances.

Common complaints include repeated submission failures, long review periods, and account blocks. The Pi Core Team has acknowledged these issues, stating that some restrictions were intentional while technical changes are underway to expand access.

Recently, Pi announced that around 2.5 million users in certain regions would be unblocked, with an additional 700,000 accounts expected to gain KYC access in upcoming phases. Eligibility remains tied to active mining status and completion of the mainnet checklist.

PI Price Struggles Amid Liquidity Constraints

PI’s market performance has remained weak during this period. The token is down roughly 83% year-on-year, reflecting both internal network bottlenecks and broader crypto market pressure.

Limited liquidity, delayed migration, and restricted balance movement have all contributed to subdued price action. Recent data shows PI trading around $0.14, after falling nearly 30% over the past month. These constraints continue to affect price discovery and trading activity.

Pi Tests Palm Print Authentication for Added Security

Alongside roadmap developments, Pi Network has unveiled plans to trial palm print authentication as part of its KYC system. The feature, initially rolling out to a small group of users, is positioned as a privacy-focused alternative to facial recognition.

According to the Core Team, palm print authentication could also support account recovery, password resets, two-factor authentication, and other security-related functions, strengthening identity protection across the network.
